OCTOBER 3RD – 16TH, 2026
‘FOLDED CITIES’  at Église,
  Palermo

After its first presentation at Lagerhusets bibliotek in Göteborg, Folded Cities travelled to Palermo from October 3rd to 16th, as the Italian leg of the project initiated with SWIT Platform. The exhibition was hosted by Église, a non-profit cultural association founded in Palermo in 2016 and based in a former baroque church in the historic centre. Alongside its exhibition space, Église runs a laboratory with a garden and the first library in Sicily specialised in photography, and it works through workshops, residencies and exchanges with local and international partners.

The Göteborg presentation placed the books inside a public library, among its existing collection. In Palermo the same selection of Italian and Nordic publications found itself in a place that already sits at the centre of a photographic community, with its own library and its own regular visitors.

We are so thankful for the livness of the scene in Palermo and the generosity with which people shared their thoughts. Many visitors arrived curious about the books and stayed to talk about them.
